About Love University

Our Mission:

Create space to explore what wholeness means and support each other to live in this way.

If you are looking to have more meaningful relationships, interested in tapping into your wholeness, want to wake up from the culture’s dysfunctional dream and see your connection to the entire universe, then Love University is the place for you. We’re not saying it will be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.

So what’s Love University all about?

We are aware of the many divisions in our society; psychological, political, economical, and environmental.  Deep down in most of us there lies an ache, a knowledge that there is something missing in our lives. In some ways we feel trapped, but don’t know how to free ourselves. From an early age our society teaches us that we are separated from the world.  Conceived from the ideology of separation, psychological fear is born.  From separation comes all the issues we see historically and presently.

We know that living in love is very challenging in our culture. If we are aware, we would know that our societal conflicts and destruction of our earth is apparent (if you don’t believe me check out the deforestation that is happening all over the planet or the trash pile the size of almost two Texas’ in the Pacific….or research the mass extinction of species that our global society has caused). We have many environmental and humane organizations working to rid us of these nuisances, but we’re not sure they’re enough.

These solutions are not getting to the root of our problems, because their missions are not seeing that all of our issues come from the same source: separatism. Because we are taught that we are all separate, our culture is at war with the world. We are at war with each other and nature. If we don’t see that all of our problems derive from this separatist ideology, nothing will change…… UNLESS….“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.” Dr. Seuss

Nature illustrates to us that there are no divisions, but a flow of immeasurable energy and interdependence that emanates through the web of life. In actuality, we are in this flow as well. The longer we fight against it, the more sorrow we will continue to perpetuate. “In this flow, mind and matter are not separate substances. Rather, they are different aspects of one whole and unbroken movement.” - David Bohm

All is imbued in wholeness, including us. In fact, individual means undivided. If we begin there and see the world from eyes that are undivided, then that very seeing will change the world. Because of this, we wanted to create an inclusive place, where people come into direct contact with wholeness and this most important essence of all, LOVE.  Because when living in wholeness, love shines bright. “The moment you have in your heart this extraordinary thing called love and feel the depth, the delight, the ecstasy of it, you will discover that for you the world is transformed.” - Jiddu Krishnamurti

How did Love University come to be?

We wondered for a long time about the best way to help each other live in love, and thereby, fundamentally change the way we see and interact with the world. Is it through education? Through meditation? Through protesting? Is just talking about love enough? All these things are important, but on their own, they quickly become meaningless. Unless there is a vision that sees how all our issue are related, and how we must change the very nature of our thinking from one of a separate ideology to one of seeing and understanding our wholeness, then nothing will really shift. After doing some soul searching and diving into ourselves, we came up with Love University, representing a universal home that includes all.  Love University is about guiding people back into love, into their authentic selves, and seeing their part in the multifaceted tree of life.

Love University was born in the Fall of 2019. We took a windy road which led us to the decision to be a low-profit limited liability company (L3C) instead of a not-for-profit. Although we function very similarly to a not-for-profit, there is one main reason we decided not to go that route. We don’t want a board. We feel our mission is complex and have discovered how easily it can be misconstrued. This was a hard decision. We know there are many benefits to being a not-for-profit, a huge one being an image of trust. But you know what we finally came to? We don’t want you to trust us because of a title, degree or rumor. We want you to meet us, dialogue with us and be in community with us, and leave feeling seen and honored. That’s how we want to build trust with you.
